Our Mission

All Youth and Young Adult Ministries are relationships; not programs.  Our goal is to help our youth develop a personal relationship with Christ, which enables them to take ownership of their faith.  We seek to build a faith-sharing Catholic community where teens and adults can feel comfortable being themselves and use their gifts and talents to become active participants in the work of the church.  We provide spiritual, educational, service and social opportunities through our ministry program called F.I.S.H. (Fellowship in Spirit with Him).  F.I.S.H is a ministry on a mission to empower young people to live a life of service as disciples of Jesus Christ in our world today.

Schedules can be found on our Schedule and Ministries page above

SV Appalachia Outreach working up north!!
SV App Outreach has completed our service working with a few families in Morris Plains.  Team members worked here in MP and traveled to Kearny to the John Paul 2 Retreat Center for spiritual development and team building.  We thank everyone for the support of this very important ministry.  Please watch for applications for our Appalachia Outreach team in January.

The Paterson Diocese and many churches around us are making the move to have Confirmation in 8th grade.  For SV, that will mean some big changes in our program.  Beginning in September, we will be making the transition from Confirmation in Sophomore year to Confirmation in 8th grade.  These changes are to keep pace with the parishes around us and give our youth the best possible transition and program.
Our current 2nd year Candidates will be Confirmed in April 2022.  Our First Year Candidates (freshmen) and our 7th and 8th grade Candidates will continue with a two year program (as required) and be Confirmed in 2023 as one group.
Please contact the parish information for registration information for grades 7 and 8.  Registration for high school Candidates is found on this page.

WELCOME NINA!!
